Shall I Compare B to Another's A
Shall I Compare B to Another's A (by Sherrie Lee/June 26th, 2011)
When paint's assembly application fades
An automobile's old transmission whines
Is it too late to wax on over trades,
Or wax off expletives at rusty lines?
All cars' surfaces bow too soon to age,
Then shinier vehicles park up close;
Even Shakespeare's coach took leave of the stage,
But if it runs is it all that morose?
A driver lacking wheels considers worse;
Perhaps he has his health for A to B,
Though on hot days he'd rather drive a hearse;
And off he cries, From A to not point B:
Where some desire the latest car or truck,
And others just don't give a flying fuck.

there
is a glow
a warmth
a love
in the voice
behind the wooden fence
where
we find home

A Silence of Moments
A Silence of Moments (by Sherrie Lee/June 12th, 2011)
For less is more a slogan's shard
Than help for shattered lives hit hard
By interrupted time; a clock
Takes inventory of our stock:
Let patriotic powers guard
Our memories around a yard
Of those who ended up FUBAR'd
Each represented by a rock
For less is more
When songs might quack an old canard.
This story might have only jarred
Though nothing like explosions shock;
"'I want you,' but, beneath a block?"
Regardless, some return home scarred
For less is more

Jiffy Mop Shorn
Jiffy Mop Shorn (by Sherrie Lee/ June 5th, 2011)

Girls go to salons to get pretty
Yet suffer such indignity
Time spent in a chair
For the sake of their hair
But end up with styles worth pity-ing!
Yet suffer such indignity
Time spent in a chair
For the sake of their hair
But end up with styles worth pity-ing!
